Jack Ruby: An Intelligence Agent?
One of the oddities that always bothered me (and my grandfather) about the JFK assassination is the involvement of Jack Ruby. Look at how prevalent he plays into the case. Why would a seedy club owner choose to kill Lee Harvey Oswald? I know that the prevailing answer from DPD officers like Jim Leavelle is that “he wanted attention”. That could be true. There are many in the JFK case that seek attention with a vengeance. But there seems to be more to Ruby. Were it not for him, would we have questions about Beverly Oliver and her Yashica? Oliver knew of him because she spent time at his club and spent personal time with him as she states in her book. He even bought her a polka dot dress that she wore to Dealey Plaza that day. Were it not for him, would we not have questions about Honest Joe and his car being spotted both the day of the assassination and the day Ruby shot Oswald as is mentioned in my book? Furthermore, Ruby seemed to know more about Lee Harvey Oswald than the Dallas District Attorney Henry Wade did, for it was Ruby that corrected Wade when Wade announced Oswald was involved with the “Free Play for Cuba”. Ruby immediately corrected him during the press conference (though Ruby wasn’t part of the press) by mentioning “Fair Play for Cuba”.
How did Ruby know this? Yes, it’s true that Oswald was passing out pamphlets in downtown Dallas, so there’s a possibility that Ruby knew of the Fair Play for Cuba organization by seeing Oswald in downtown Dallas. But there could be other reasons. There is an author who has written a book about the reconnaissance plans he developed while working at Texas Instruments for the CIA. He has proof that Jack Ruby had CIA clearance and was aware of these top-secret plans. They were developed after the U2 incident involving Gary Powers in the early 60’s. Furthermore, Powers suggested before his suspicious helicopter death that he felt it wasn’t the Soviets that shot him down, but the CIA. Read the late John Judge’s fine article here regarding Lee Harvey Oswald and Gary Powers. He states:
It is not a “conspiracy theory” that Lee Harvey Oswald, one of nine Office of Naval Intelligence fake defectors who went to the USSR in the same month, told ONI’s Richard Snyder at the American Embassy in Moscow that he was going to reveal the U-2 secrets to the Soviets.
Was Jack Ruby hired by the CIA to “watch over” Lee Harvey Oswald after this incident? This will be a chapter in my upcoming book….stay tuned!
