Five JFK Assassination Facts: Psychiatric Stories

Contrary to cynical belief, there are still many true things you may not know about the JFK Assassination. I don’t mean rumor, I don’t mean unproved contention, I don’t mean altered photos, I mean confirmed facts. There are also a pattern of themes, too many to list that run through the scenarios, players, witnesses and events of the JFK Assassination that I find fascinating. Here’s a list of five, all revolving around mental states:

  1. Ruth Paine’s mother, Carol Hyde, had ambitions of becoming a chaplain for a mental institution.
  2. Lee Harvey Oswald had a probation officer in New York by the age of 13. The probation officer’s name was John Carro who due to Oswald’s truancy and lack of social skills, took his case to the Bronx Children’s Court. There, four judges, 3 of which recommended psychiatric care, decided to send him to the Youth House for Boys in the Bronx. Dr. Renatus Hartogs, the Chief Psychiatrist, found that Oswald had schizophrenic tendencies and was “potentially dangerous.”
  3. John Liggett, a skilled embalmer and serial killer was said to have been called to Parkland Hospital the day of JFK’s death to reconstruct the head of the slain president. Ligget was later shot by a police officer when he attempted to escape after facing four felony murder charges.
  4. General Edwin Walker, one time gubernatorial candidate in Texas and John Bircher was ordered by the Army (some would say the Kennedy Administration) to undergo psychiatric testing.
  5. Jack Ruby’s Polygraph and diagnosis of Psychotic Depressive: The Warren Commission states:

During the proceedings at Dallas, Texas, on July 18, 1964, Dr. William R. Beavers, a psychiatrist, testified that he would generally describe Jack Ruby as a “psychotic depressive.” In view of the serious question raised as to Ruby’s mental condition, no significance should be placed on the polygraph examination and it should be considered non-conclusive as the charts cannot be relied upon.134

Psychotic depressives, embalmers cum serial killers, schizophrenic tendencies…what do these patterns and facts tell us about the assassination of JFK?
